In an effort to revive interest in snooker and billiards in Cork, a meeting of club owners was held in the AOH on 26th July. Attending were AOH, Fermoy C.Y.M.S. and Shooters. Apologies were received from Youghal C.Y.M.S.
As a result the Cork Billiards and Snooker Association was reformed and David Joyce (Fermoy) was elected Chairman with Timmy Murphy (AOH) as Secretary/Treasurer.
Each affiliated club can send two delegates to meetings but only one will have a vote.
It was agreed to invite Cappoquin and Killarney snooker clubs to take part in the Snooker League which will be played on Thursdays beginning on the first Thursday in October with one match per week.
The following competitions will also take place:-

Orme Shield
Cork Close Snooker
Cork under 21 Snooker
Cork under 19 Snooker
Cork under 16 Snooker
Cork under 14 Snooker

Only affiliated Clubs and Players can take part in the competitions.
