C.Y.M.S. Junior Snooker Blitz Final - May 21st 2010

The final of the junior snooker blitz took place on Friday 21st May. The two worthy finalists were newcomer Josh Healy from Cloyne against the more experienced Kenny Wight. The best of three frames were played on the No.1 championship table and great credit is due to the caretaker who had the table in tip top condition and also to the senior scorekeeper Ray Phelan.

The two players were suitably attired in the customary dress code that is required for the snooker finals and to referee Brendan Cooney who did great  work in organising these tournaments. In an exciting final, 12 year old Josh who goes to St. Colman’s NS, Cloyne, won the first frame on the colours. Kenny replied by taken the 2nd frame on the black. This didn’t stop the young Josh however when he took the final frame again on the black ball. A delighted Josh said it was great to win his first ever snooker tournament, his dad Dan was also thrilled to see his son win the final. Congratulations to the two players on a wonderful final.
